The 41st AGM meeting took place on 9th May 2018 and was followed by wine and snacks and a routine meeting of The Council
Chairman's Report : Pat Huff reported on another successful and active year. Net funds had increased by about £250 in the year, with a current balance in the bank account of over £38,000. Use of funds included purchase of teak benches for the Knot Garden, purchase of timber surrounds to plant beds in the Knot Garden, redesign of the FOBT web site, financial support to the owners in the maintenance and improvements of the buildings, as well as many other smaller items.
Pat reported that the Plant Sale in2017 had been, as usual, very successful; Heritage Day, in spite of unsettled weather, had generated good
income from the stalls and the tours; and The Quiz Night had been extremely well attended. The Chairman thanked all volunteers and caterers for their support in these events.
Mike Allwright reported on activities by The Owners on improvements to the buildings, noting that The Friends had contributed £2400 to the cost of these activities over the year.
Congratulations to Tessa Croker in being awarded the Mike Kiely Trophy this year. This award reflects her service over many years in organising and managing refreshments for the annual plant sale.
If you have any matters that you would like discussed at these meetings, please contact the FOBT Chairman, by e-mail, at firstname.lastname@example.org
Was held on Sunday 16th September 1.00 pm to 4.00 pm
The weather was good and there were a good number of visitors to the Towers on the day. The number of visitors taking tours was fewer than last year, nevertheless our guide was kept busy throughout the day. Healthy sales of bric a brac, and refreshments ensured that a useful contribution to the funding of The Friends was achieved.
Next Quiz Nights will be held Friday 15th March 2019 7.30 PM in the main building.
Entry £5.00 per person
Conference Room at 7.30 pm The AGM will be followed by wine and snacks, and a routine meeting of The Council_
